I Remember Seeing You, 2014.

Photographic print.

The Flaneur passes through the city. Scenes unfold as déjà vues in the space of everyday life. The surreal encounters with strangers come to encapsulate a particular experience of place. "I don't recall knowing you, but in this one moment outside of regular time I recognize you". The scenes of déjà vu with a stranger are a place of familiarity within the unknown wilderness, a moment which  only exists because we managed to recognize it. A brief intimacy, often unnoticed. A glare into how we come to know the unknown.
