By the Water, 2015.
The project By the Water explores the connection between the human body and the element of water. In many ways, water represents the place where we come from- we are born out of a womb where we are surrounded by water, and we share our origin with the species that inhabit the seas.
The Greek myths about nymphs that are said to reside in caves are as much an honoring of the mystical power of water, as much as they are personifications of the human relationship to water.
Notions of disappearance, birth and elemental human emotion take on associative power that draws us back to the lakes, caves and seas.
